Alternating Air Mattress
The primary reason for using an Alternating Pressure Mattress is to prevent or treat skin breakdown. Alternating Pressure Systems alternate inflation and deflation of air cells (bladders) to constantly change pressure points and promote circulation.
We have 2 rolls and 3 rolls alternating tubular high quality mattress, these mattresses are couple with Semi-Digital (7H) or Digital (7D). With cycle time (head – foot) of about 10, 15 and 20 minutes with semi-digital or digital programmable pump. These mattresses have bladders positioned laterally or length-wise that slowly deflate and inflate, one at a time. This keeps the pressure points alternating throughout the whole body.
3-1 (A-B-C) alternating is a type of alternating that alternates every other 3 air cell during each alternating cycle. In each alternating cycle, 33 percent of the mattress is deflated and 66 percent is inflated, this means the body has more support by 66%.
2-1 (A-B) alternating is a type of alternating that alternates every other 2 air cell during each alternating cycle. In each alternating cycle, 50 percent of the mattress is deflated and inflated, this means the body has only 50% support from the air cell.
